Alternative Storytelling

Narrative and game mechanics in education and wellbeing.

Four weeks48 contact hoursStudio, in EnglishNo prerequisites — it starts from the ground

Why is a story retained when a fact is not — and when is a loop a gift rather than a trap?

01

The pact

Disbelief suspended by consent. A fiction you have agreed to is not a lie — and what generative media did to that.

02

The tests

Who holds the goal. Are the mechanics disclosable. Does leaving cost nothing. Then find the one edit at which a mechanic flips.

03

The turn

The same mechanics made extractive, the biases they run on, and where the clinician's boundary sits.

04

The proof

Build it, measure it, then let the players say in their own words what they thought they agreed to.

Students leave with

One playable or readable artifact
A mechanic-by-mechanic justification, rejections included
A measured result, and their players' account of it
  • A mechanic correctly rejected is worth as much as one well used.
  • Nothing here trains anyone to treat anyone. The boundary is taught as method.

The mechanic is not the unit of judgement. The consent is.

Fifteen minutes on a call will tell you whether this fits. Syllabus in outcome-based format, facilitator's kit and student handbook on request, with the three project case studies.
